In accordance with the Provisions of the People’s Bank of China on Monetary Policy Committee, the tenures of Dr. Zhou Qiren, Mr. Xia Bin and Dr. Li Taokui as the committee’s economic and financial experts have expired, and they will no longer sit in the Committee. In the meantime, the State Council has approved the appointment of Dr. Qian Yingyi, Dr. Chen Yulu and Mr. Song Guoqing as members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People’s Bank of China.
Dr. Qian Yingyi is currently the dean of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management, Dr. Chen Yulu is the President of the Renmin University of China, and Mr. Song Guoqing is a professor of the National School of Development of Peking University.
