According toArticle 10 of Regulations for Monetary Policy Committee of the People’s Bank of China on term of committee members, the term of Dr. Yu Yongding, the financial expert member in Monetary Policy Committee, has expired. With the approval ofthe State Council, Dr. Fan Gang was appointed member of the Monetary Policy Committee, and Dr. Yu Yongding was no longer a member in the Committee.
Resume of Fan Gang
Dr. Fan Gang, male, born in 1953, PhD in Economics, is Vice Chairman of the China Society of Economic Reform, Chief Secretary of the Fund of Chinese Economic Institution Reform Committee, and Director of the National Economic Research Institute. In1990 and 2004, his paper was awarded Sun Yefang Economics Prize. He was awarded the title of Young and Middle-aged State-ranking Expert with Outstanding Contributions in 1992.
Dr. Fan Gang’s major research areas are macroeconomics and transitional economics. He has published 15 chief-authored and co-authored books, and over 100 papers. His main booksare A Comparison of Three Modern Economic Theory Systems and Summaries, Outline for Public Ownership Macroeconomic Theory, Market Mechanism and Economic Efficiency, A Progressive Path—Reflection on Economics of Economic Reform, Analysis on Political Economics of Progressive Reform, etc.
