On July 29, 2025, on behalf of Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC), Deputy Governor Xuan Changneng met with the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC) Board of Directors Delegation. They exchanged views on issues including China-U.S. economic and trade relations, China's macroeconomic policies, and the opening-up of the financial sector.
Deputy Governor Xuan Changneng stressed that President Xi has pointed out that China and the U.S. share extensive common interests and vast potential for cooperation, and the two countries can achieve mutual success. The key is to follow the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation. Since the beginning of this year, China’s economy has maintained the upward trajectory, demonstrating strong resilience in a turbulent international environment, and creating a favorable environment for foreign enterprises to invest and do business in China. The PBOC is committed to advancing high-level financial opening-up and optimizing business environment. Governor Pan Gongsheng frequently hold meetings with foreign enterprises and financial institutions to listen and respond to their proposals and concerns. China welcomes U.S. enterprises and financial institutions to invest in China, share in development opportunities through active participation in China’s financial markets. We hope that the USCBC will continue to play its role as a bridge to make greater contributions to the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.
The Chairman of USCBC Board of Directors Rajesh Subramaniam, representatives from companies such as Goldman Sachs and PwC, and USCBC President Sean Stein said that President Xi’s meeting with representatives of international business community in March this year has boosted strong confidence among foreign enterprises operating in China. The USCBC and its member companies highly commend China’s reform and opening-up, remain committed to long-term investment in China, and stand ready to promote win-win economic and trade cooperation between the U.S. and China.
